Z+F UK Show Continued Support for
AVEVA as Sponsors of ISEIT 2008
the AVEVA ISEIT conference continues to be one of the most important annual events for professionals and business managers involved in the complete life cycle of Process and Power Plant assets. ISEIT provides an opportunity for senior executives from both EPC and Owner Operator companies to network and discuss the opportunities offered by the latest engineering IT developments.
The theme for ISEIT 2008 was 'Collaborate for Success', exploring how companies can operate more efficiently by utilizing distributed resources.
Z+F were able to demonstrate how laser scanning can be utilized and how the collaboration of high quality laser scanning technology with state-of-the-art point-cloud solution software, allows EPC or Owner Operators to be better equipped at dealing with 21st century demands.
For example, tighter planning regulations on Greenfield sites and the desire to increase overall production has lead to a need to modify and upgrade existing capacity rather than to build from new. This growing trend has focused attention on engineering data capture in general, sweeping laser scanner into the mainstream and fueling an interest in Z+F UK and the industries standard 3D laser scanner; the IMAGER 5006 Competitive pressures now faced by the process plant industry from both plant operator and engineering contractors to reduce costs and improve on efficiency, have lead to further increases in the uptake of laser scanning.
ISEIT 2008 provided Z+F UK with the opportunity to show delegates how the use of laser scanning can mitigate project risks and reduce costs by providing the designer with a detailed "as-built" knowledge of the plant. the IMAGER 5006 typically captures 50 million XYZ co-ordinates in a 360° x 310° field of view around and above the 3D laser scanner. It achieves this in less than four minutes. The system is safe, portable, reliable and standalone.
It was shown how our LFM software has been designed to work hand in hand with the high resolution data needed to capture Process, Power and Marine environments. LFM is used to take the data from the field, through registration and viewing, to delivery to the designers or operators desktop. The data can be viewed in its raw form or can be modelled using LFM Modeller.
The theme of ISEIT 2008 also highlighted the important collaboration between Z+FUK and AVEVA. This is a collaboration which allows customers to view and/or manipulate their laser scan data in their AVEVA CAD or Review package.
