Answers

  • 1. How do I update .int files?
  • To update the .int files, please follow the pdf instructions.

  • 2. Is there a standard Project Data Structure that I should be using?
  • It is beneficial to adopt a common file structure for all projects. When models are created, image names are stored in addition to the parent directory names. If models are combined from several workstations with different user preferences, there is potential for different image location paths on the same model causing confusion, and slow data access. Please follow the pdf instructions.

  • 3. Where are the .int and .png files located?
  • When the Show Bubble or Show Source Image function is used for the first time, LFM Server will need to be set to point to the .int/.png file location. In practice, the user will see a warning window that the file has not been located, and will be prompted to use the browser to find the file. Any subsequent use of this function will result in the image appearing directly. Please follow the pdf instructions.

  • 4. Where are DVF files and how do I use them?
  • Defined Volume Support. One of the key strengths of LFM Server is its ability to handle massive data-sets without any predefined volumes. This allows a user to move through the entire data-set and select the data of interest on-the-fly. An extension of this is to allow the user to partition the data into areas of interest. LFM Server (3.80.15 upwards).

  • 5. How do I reposition my LFM Server database?
  • Designers often find that the survey coordinates do not match the design coordinates. When this occurs, it is possible to reposition the database to match the working design. This is only possible in an easting, northing or elevation translation. If a rotation needs to be applied, the database will have to be recompiled from a modified model file (SAT > LFR).

The process described below should only be carried out on the machine which is acting as the license server. For more information, please download the pdf.
