Nick Cooper Vice President of the International Association of Forensic and Security Metrology and Senior Collision Investigator for South Wales Police recently featured with the Z+F IMAGER® 5006 on the BBC documentary series, Traffic cops.

Nick explained the benefits of the Z+F IMAGER® 5006 3D laser scanner in Accident Reconstruction which included its ability to capture high resolution data at a rapid pace (500,000 points per second).

The ability to capture the scene at a rapid pace can represent an incredible cost saving when one considers the cost to the economy where in the abscence of this technology an accident results in the closure of a major road or motorway for several hours.

Nick also made reference to the popularity of the 3D laser scanner with the FBI.

3D Models of a crash scene created with LFM also featured on the programme. The importance of such software and its many applications were explained, for example its role in supporting the families of crash victims.
